Vampires a Mathematical Impossibility, Scientist Says - Yahoo! News

Okay, not all people feasted on by vampires become vampires - some plain old die. And, there's no guarantee that the vampires feed once a month, or whatever. And, many of the original vampires were found out and destroyed in the middle ages, thereby forcing many of their "kind" to retreat into hiding/dormancy.
So I see this "logic" of professor Costas Efthimiou to be wholly unfounded; and if that's not the name of a vampire trying to diffuse attention away from his true identity, then I don't know what is. Also, how does such a study promote "literacy?" There's no vampires - go read a book!
Still doesn't prove there are no zombies.

An omen?
It just might have been.
Monday morning I was greeted by a smile on my way to work. Not from a passerby but on the road as I crossed the street!
It made me smile and I continued on to work. I thought to myself "maybe that's an omen for good things to come" - a thought I quickly discounted, because such things usually don't work out "that way" for me. But, later that morning, thinking I hadn't brought any cash with me to work, I found a twenty dollar bill (yea! coffees for everyone!) - and then, a little later, as I prepared to go home for lunch, I found, in my coat pocket, the set of keys that I had been looking for since September. Hmmmmmm. So, on my way home from lunch I took a picture of the happy omen (still there) -
