Looks a little drunk with power in this picture.

seeing matches when I can - like "lunch break" - England's playing today - i really should run down to the neighborhood bar.... Saw France on tuesday (sodding) and USA on Monday (soddingest) - so perhaps I should stay away.

Mildly (I'll leave it at that) obsessed - click to the "game casts" every now and then. It's just good fun.

Amy's is before mine, but it's looming. I'm done counting - math was not taught to girls when I was a child - they didn't teach us how to count this high (that's why we're supposed to get married and have babies, so we can start over with counting anniversaries and babies' ages).

You know I still have more freckles (when do I have to start calling them age spots?) than wrinkles - hah!

Katie's birthday is tomorrow - she's four. according to her dad she has organized her own birthday party for today; sally, the nanny, is to bring balloons. I wasn't invited, but she's a busy girl; I understand. Suzanne and I have a stack of presents for her - mostly (boring old) clothes - but then Katie loves clothes so maybe it'll be okay. I knitted a hat for her out of yarn she picked out - she does love green.

Did you watch the men's final of the French Open? Rafa Nadal beat Roger Federer - it was a rollercoaster of a match - but I had no idea how exciting the end would be AFTER the tennis was finished.

They were showing the men on the podium (yes, I had flipped to the World Cup match during the commercial, so I didn't see Federer being handed his tray) and I see a blonde dude - my initial reaction was, hey it's stefan edberg - then I think - no, it can't be Stefan, this is the French Open - then I look again and start yelling at the TV - who's that behind the white haired guy? That's Stefan Edberg! Then when Nadal gets his trophy - he stands right in front of Stefan and I start yelling "get out of the way!" - so I got to see a little glimpse of "Tennis Player Stefan" - it made my day - perhaps more.

I've been scouring the net for a picture - no luck yet - I'll keep looking though!
